I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Morten Nygaard Pedersen, and I am an artist.
I was born in Norway and currently live and work in Oslo.
I started my career by not stopping to draw when I was little and keeping my interest in creating all my life. My first professional job was in animation. After an apprenticeship in a tiny animation studio in my hometown of Asker, I moved to Copenhagen, Denmark, and worked on an animated feature there. That was like learning to swim by being thrown into the water, and I loved it!
The people I met there and the work I got to do were just what I wanted and needed.
It became my education, and I kept on working ever since.
After working in animation for a while, I felt I had more to give and wanted to be more than just an artist on a team; I wanted to create something myself. That led me to write and illustrate children’s books.
I now combine the two professions: writing and illustrating children’s books and animation.
This blog will be my outlet for discussing various projects I have completed over the years and future ones. I also want it to be a place to share my love for art, animation, and illustration. I draw inspiration from various sources, from books to real life. I love to be inspired by people and what surrounds me. Hopefully, I will be able to inspire you as well.
